Disability Skiing Wales is a Registered Charity, Number 1191559. We are members of Snowsport Wales, the governing body for all snowsports in Wales.

The club is run by a volunteer committee, some of whom are also trustees of the club. This committee is supported by a large group of wonderful volunteers. This allows everyone to support running the club to a level of involvement that works for them.

Safety

Ski sessions are run in accordance with our regularly reviewed slope guidance and risk assessments and the expectations of the Llandudno Ski Centre.

We pride ourselves on ensuring that all our sessions are safely run. On completion of a membership form our skiers and volunteers are covered by Snowsport Wales (SSW) insurance as we are an affiliated club. We adhere to the guidelines provided by SSW in relation to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and have a nominated Welfare Officer. 

Our instructors hold nationally recognised qualifications, and our experienced ski guides and slope buddies help our members on the piste, under the supervision of a lead instructor at every session. 

The club holds regular training sessions for our sit ski guides, volunteers, and instructors to maintain and improve our teaching skills, and to continually streamline our slope safety and operating procedures. 

There is always an inherent risk in participating in any snowsport, but through training and maintaining standards,  we aim to minimise any risk and provide a supportive and safe environment in which to learn.
